About Willow Lane
We are two sisters, an artist and a designer, and we have been working together in publishing, writing and other creative endeavours for over twenty years.
Willow Lane* began as a growing collection of beautiful and unique, quality hardback notebooks featuring original hand-painted art and carefully matched designs. It was a way to combine Lisa’s art and Naomi’s design with our publishing, writing and design skills. It has since become so much more.
We chose to open the shop on the website we were already running together for Lisa’s fantasy novels – The Lonely Creative – originally just to advertise that the books were available on Amazon, but it just kept growing and growing, and now we sell the books ourselves online as well as cards, prints, gifts and stationery.
Willow Lane is the place where our art and design meet.

About Our Notebooks
It is our belief that notebooks and journals offer so much potential for creativity. Whether you’re journaling, keeping track of ideas, remembering all you’re thankful for, recording dreams, writing to heal, collecting favourite quotes, crafting stories and poems, brainstorming your latest book, or even doodling, notebooks are little doors to whole worlds of potential within you.
Every notebook is created with joyful deliberation. Lisa does all of the original hand-painted and hand-drawn art. Naomi takes that art and turns it into a beautiful notebook, designing covers and interiors.

About cards, prints, gifts and more.
We began to look into ways to get the artwork to Australians who wanted copies but who didn’t have easy access to notebooks, or to get art into the hands of people who wanted the art but not a notebook. We came up with the idea of art card packs, some to give away, and some to keep to put on your wall. The cards now taken on a life of their own and become their own diverse, delightful and growing collection.
And seeing how much art and design we had to play with, and wanting ways to offer even more to people, we soon expanded into offering prints and then mugs, unusual stationery (notelets and unique bookmarks), totes and more.
Our range grew very fast but we aren’t stopping here. The plan is to keep growing our range so do come back often, or subscribe to our Behind the Scenes Updates for notifications on some of our products and behind the scenes info on art, designs and even Lisa’s books.
All our notebooks & journals are:
A5 size. 5.5’x8.5’
Hardcover
Cream paper 90GSM
150-160 pages.
Lined with generous margins for extra notes, doodles and more.
Beautifully designed back and front, some with full original artwork that wraps the whole cover
Either plain pages or have a small motif or watermark.
They have wider lines for:
Bigger handwriting
Those who love swirly cursive
Doodlers and scribblers
Or just for that uncluttered feel of white space. (We love white space in our journals. It’s like room to think and breathe.)
