About this design

Heading Home captures the quintessential English farmer – walking stick, jacket, tie and all. The farmer with his ever-present Jack Russell at his side, returns home at the closing of the day as the long English twilight plays with the colours of the light. Based on Lisa’s observations overlooking English farmland and watching that well-dressed farmer and his dog roam the lands, Heading Home, the original watercolour, was her nod and farewell to England before moving to Scotland.

Now we’ve turned it into a high-quality hardback journal that we think has so many uses. The notebook has a lovely leather-texture print on the front and back (not real) and a printed rubber band (also not real). We think this one is perfect for the gentlemen in your life or for anyone who loves the charms of the English landscape and its people like we do.

Heading Home would make a great gift, if you can bear to part with it. It is ideal for journal writers, dream makers, gratitude keepers, note-takers, ideas collectors, story creators, and anything else it inspires you to do. The slightly wider margins and wider lines allow for extra notes, scribbles, doodles, or just the serenity of white space. There’s a beautifully designed “This Book Belongs To” page, and each subsequent page has a small tuft of grass as a motif down the bottom.

Lined with generous margins for extra notes, doodles and more.

Beautifully designed back and front, some with full original artwork that wraps the whole cover

Either plain inside or have a small themed motif at the bottom of each page.

Or just for that uncluttered feel of white space. (We love white space in our journals. It’s like room to think and breathe.)

Shipping

Our notebooks are a bespoke product printed in the USA by a separate company to our other products and so are charged at a separate shipping rate. It may take up to two weeks for your book to be printed, bound and shipped, then allow the usual shipping times on top of that. Ships internationally.

About Willow Lane

We are two sisters, an artist and designer, with a passion for notebooks and journals. We genuinely believe notebooks can change your life. They’ve changed ours. That is why our goal is to inspire the world one notebook at a time.

Every notebook is created with joyful deliberation. Lisa does all of the original hand-painted and hand-drawn art. Naomi takes that art and turns it into a beautiful notebook, designing covers and interiors. Willow Lane is the place where our art and design meet.

Our goal is to release at least ten new books a year, around two every two months, so keep checking back for our growing collection.
